The Canon C-MC-G02 Maintenance Box (also known as the MC-G02 Maintenance Cartridge) is a user-replaceable part designed for select Canon PIXMA Mega Tank printers. What It Does When your printer cleans its printheads or prints borderless photos, it creates extra ink. This maintenance box acts as a sponge that absorbs and stores that excess waste ink. It has a built-in smart chip that talks to your printer. When the box gets completely full, your printer will stop and give you an alert (like Support Code 1726) telling you it is time to slide in a new one.
